Primary logo
Our signature. Use it from the master files; never redraw it.
Clear space & minimum size
x = height of the grain
Placement & sizing
The logo sits in a corner, at a set share of the width, with its clear space kept. Never centred in a busy layout, never smaller than the minimum size.
Top left, 45 mm wide, 15 mm from the edges. Logo at 22% of the width.
Bottom left, 216 px wide, inside the 60 px safe area. Logo at 20% of the width.
Top left, 230 px wide, 80 px from the edges. Logo at 12% of the width.
Lockups
One artwork, arranged for the space. Pick by the space, never by taste.
Default: headers, documents, signage and wide spaces.
Small or named spaces: app icon, favicon, avatars.
Colour versions
Full colour on light backgrounds; one-colour versions everywhere else.
Logo on colour & photography
Full colour on light grounds, the white version on dark ones. On photos, use a calm area or a dark overlay so the logo keeps its contrast.

Never do any of these. If in doubt, use the master file as it is.

How much of each colour a typical layout uses, and the tints for charts and backgrounds.
Colour pairings
Every text colour on every background, measured. ✓ works for body text (4.5:1 or more), ◐ for large text only (3:1), ✕ never.
Accessibility
Contrast ratios (WCAG 2): AA needs 4.5:1 for body text, AAA 7:1. Large text (24 px and up) needs 3:1.
- • Char on Ember only for large text — 24 px and up (3.29:1).
- • Ember on Oat only for large text — 24 px and up (3.04:1).
- • Never set Honey text on Oat (1.53:1).
Colour in interfaces
The primary colour marks the one main action on a screen. Everything else stays in the neutrals, so that action is always easy to find.
